Frequently Asked Questions
What does this product do?
To add showering components to a standard shower set (shower head/arm/flange with main valve control) you need an additional mechanism to divert the water from the shower head to the other shower device(s). For instance, if you’re adding a hand shower to your shower set you will need a diverter to control flow between both shower devices. If you’re building a custom shower, which has multiple showering devices such as a shower head, hand shower and body sprays, you may desire the ability to operate each component separately or possibly even two simultaneously. In order to do this you need a separate valve to divert the water between the various modes. That’s what this diverter accomplishes for you – with style!

Why should I choose the MultiChoice Integrated Shower Diverter?
The beauty of the MultiChoice Integrated Shower Diverter is that you can use one rough to control two valves in the wall – providing you a streamlined solution that is easier to install and has a very appealing style. Plus, once you’ve installed the MultiChoice Universal Valve platform into your shower, you won’t need to go ‘behind the wall’ again later if you want to make an update – you can just swap out your cartridge and trim for a fresh shower look and function (translation: your shower gets an upgrade and your tile stays intact!).

Does my order of a MultiChoice Integrated Shower Diverter include cartridges?
If you order the trim kit, yes: you will receive 2 cartridges with the trim – one for the diverter handle and one for the main control handle.

Does the MultiChoice Integrated Shower Diverter use a new type of cartridge or will my old Delta cartridges work with this product?
These utilize the same cartridges as the R10000 and R11000 platforms use today.

What is the 3-setting option?
Two showering devices can be operated individually – the third setting is shared/combination where both would flow at same time.

What if I don’t want to use shared device setting or if they are not allowed due to plumbing codes in my area?
We offer non-shared diverter cartridges which may be ordered separately. More data on which model you will need can be found in the spec sheet available from the ‘specs’ tab of the product page.

Do you have thick wall installation kits?
Yes, there are kits that are available that will add an additional 1” to maximum installation thickness depending on the cartridges used – please reference the spec sheet available from the ‘specs’ tab of the product page for this information.

How large is the trim plate (escutcheon)?
- Angular Modern 6 13/16”
- Contemporary Round 6 5/8”
- Traditional round 7”

Can you plumb a tub spout to one of the MultiChoice Integrated Diverter Ports?
We do not recommend installing a tub spout using this product.
